FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

How do I know if I should seek therapy?

Counseling benefits those with issues that seem too overwhelming or too stressful to handle alone. These issues may include depression, anxiety, addiction, family problems, parenting and childhood problems, marriage, divorce, deaths in the family, and many other life struggles.

What will therapy do for me?

Therapy will help you identify and clarify the issues in your life that cause depression, stress and anxiety. A good therapist will help you to obtain manageable goals to alleviate your stress, anxiety and depression, and will work with you directly to maintain a sense of peace, hope and empowerment.

Can therapy be paid for by health insurance?

I accept most health insurance plans. The number of sessions you can receive through insurance depends on your health insurance benefits. I also accept self-pay. Please contact me if you have any questions about your insurance plan.

How long will I be in therapy?

The length of time that one is in therapy wholly depends on the individual as well as his or her specific issues. During your sessions, we will discuss at length what kind of treatment plan is best for you. We will decide what length of treatment is necessary to achieve your goals.

Are my sessions confidential?

Yes. Both ethically and lawfully, your confidentiality is of utmost importance to me. Any information that is disclosed during our sessions together will remain confidential. Furthermore, you are guaranteed confidentiality within the boundaries of the client-therapist relationship and HIPPA guidelines. No information can be released without signing a release of information form. Limitations to confidentially include threats of danger to oneself or others, child abuse, elder abuse, domestic violence, or if a court order requires disclosed information.

What is your cancellation policy?

If possible, please give 48 hours notice. Cancellation notices can be left on my voice mail.

How can I schedule an appointment?

Please call my office at (760) 233-7730 to arrange an appointment. I am usually able to accommodate new clients within 24 hours. You can also e-mail me.
