Services Overview
In my practice, I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy. I have been trained to treat mood disorders, anxiety and addictive disorders. In addition, I am certified as a substance abuse professional (SAP). I treat eating and gambling disorders. I also treat alcohol and chemical dependencies. I have worked in psychiatric hospitals and intensive out patient settings with children, adolescents, and adults. My approach is customized to the needs of each individual patient. Many children, adolescents, and adults acquire personal insight by expressing themselves through art and therapeutic games. Others are more at ease with traditional
“talk therapy”.
Clients who achieve the most success in therapy:
Understand and practice the tools they have learned in therapy sessions
Understand the value of growth and change, within themselves and their relationships
Understand that growth in therapy can be stressful, but will later create a stronger sense of self and empowerment.
Understand that by trusting their therapist, the therapist can provide support and guidance
My practice consists of multiple types of therapy models when working with children (ages 3-12), adolescents (ages 13-19) and adults
(ages 20 and up). I utilize a variety of different therapeutic approaches according to the needs of each client. “Talk therapy” is composed
of psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral approaches. Art and play therapies are used with young children and some adolescents.
Therapy sessions are by appointment only, and are scheduled Monday-Friday, early morning, daytime, after school hours, and early evenings. Limited Saturday morning appointments are available.
I make every attempt to schedule appointments as flexibly as possible. Sessions are typically 50 minutes long.
